All that fringe

It's safe to say that I am madly in love with this fringe sweater. Although it is not something to wear everyday and most certainly not functional for all occasions, I could not pass it up.  I live for the fringe draping down my legs, adding a flirty side to a lengthly, dominating piece. The cream color is complete perfection and the weave detail adds unexpected texture to my simple white tank and black shorts.

Shoulder-less Chambray

I haven't quite jumped on the shoulder-less train this season but when I saw this chambray, I jumped quick. I not only loved the wash of the chambray, but I thought the shoulder-less touch added a funky, yet feminine side to a classic boy shirt. Today, I put together a loose fitting, girly look by pairing the chambray with black, chiffon weight wide-leggers, wedges and a colorful multi strand necklace.

All the basics

I diagnosed this look after I put it together and it was actually very basic. Basic didn't seem all that "basic" to me though because the combo and fit made me feel really girly and polished. The cotton candy pink button down and the slimming high risers gave this look a girly twist. The navy and crisp white sailor stripe tank added a touch of pattern and my ankle tie flats wrapped it all together. Sometimes basic is better...

Highlighters and Denim Vests

Today I paired two of my latest and greatest pcs (in my opinion, of course)! These highlighter pink chinos are not only impossibly comfortable, but the color is irresistible. They are the kind of pant that you work your outfit around, I think of them as the perfect summer canvas! My Levi denim vest never disappoints and in this instance, it bounced off my mint tank and pink pants quite perfectly if you ask me.

Walking through the lens...

I took a walk down Abbot yesterday and found my eye behind the camera most of the time. I actually forgot how therapeutic a "for no particular reason", slow, solo walk can be...so, I decided to blog about it to keep the moment alive.
Shots of Abbot Kinney in a casual maxi dress with a pink/saddle colored belt and a chambray (of course), hot coffee to bounce off the ocean breeze and keep me cozy on my journey.

A wood chipped mirror from Tumbleweed and Dandelion.

A bird in a vintage birdcage, stack of poems from the sea, a candid red carpet shot of Madonna at a local art gallery and a roughed up pile of washed denim vests.

Lace Mini

I felt like adding a feminine touch to my chambray boy-shirt and relaxed fitting tee. With that, I decided on an off-white lace mini skirt to balance out the look. With the outfit being so neutral, I thought my highlighter, contrast clutch added the perfect punch.

Abstract and relaxed

Clearly letting the abstract print pants do the talking, I simplified the top with just a white tank. I added a punch of color with my neon earrings and bracelets, threw on some heels and off I went.

These pants are ridiculously comfortable and can definitely be worn with a casual tee shirt and some flat sandals for a day at the flea market. I look forward to getting some use out of them all summer long!!

Fire red and an ocean breeze

This sheer, red blouse has become one of my favorite pcs for summer. I snagged it at a store in NY and decided to get it oversized so it was breezy and relaxed. For a dinner by the ocean, I paired it with white denim midi shorts and my leopard heeled sandals.

Sheer Gown

Nothing beats a breezy, lightweight, girly sundress-the kind you create a memory in and always remember, "what you wore that night".  I wore mine this weekend for a mexican fiesta and an unforgettable sunset...

9-5 state of mind

Since I don't work a normal 9-5, I sometimes crave the business attire that comes with it. Letting my inner business woman come out, I wore a black short and vest to give a summer twist to the classic black suit. Although I normally steer clear of matching accessories perfectly with my outfit, I thought these bangles and off-white flap bag were the perfect fit.

Peach Pencil and Zig Zags

This pencil skirt is a refreshing twist to the short "bandaid" knit skirt that is brought back every summer. Not only did the color draw me in, but I thought the length was classy, classic and versatile. Today, I paired the skirt with a white lace top to add texture, and my favorite part of the outfit- my bracelet. This zig zag bangle is linked together by chain and subtly crawls up my arm, adding a little sass to the average gold bangle...I'm obsessed!!!

Pink Scallops

Whether it be a pant, skirt or a pair of shorts, I feel that bottoms are a great canvas for the rest of your outfit.  I happened to find these hot pink scallop shorts last week and knew they were the perfect stepping stone into summer.
Paired with a white, crew neck cable sweater and a layered chambray.
